Anybody here install gears? I have new Yukon 4.10's and master install kit for my M20 and a matched set of used OEM 4.10's still on the carrier for the D30. I have a spare set of diffs and will have them completely stripped and cleaned so they won't be in a vehicle or need any additional labor. I can't afford the $1000 - $1200 I was quoted at the moment. Anybody here done any before and willing to do them for say $500 and a flat of beer? Thanks.

Hello Kozy welcome to the site and city. I have done a few and there is nothing to them. With the diffs out and on stands it is even easier. If you were shown once you would be a pro. I am tied up for a week or so but if you get everything ready I will drop off a dial and point you in the right direction. Normally I don't mind helping fellow wheelers to do the whole job but I have started on a project for a friend of mine and as soon as his is done mine needs some work as I am getting a hotrod in September so I need to get the shop empty. Fell free to give me a call at 881-0737 between 9am and 5 pm.

Are set up bearings a must? I don't have a press so installing and removing carrier bearings to shim it would pretty much be an impossibility. I'll have to hit up Pat's for a set if it'll make it go a little smoother. I won't have the extra set of bare housings until early september so I'll get in touch with you later this month. Who should I ask for when I call? Thanks for the help.
