That's how she looks right now... Someone's telling me the steering issue could be related to the u-joint? Haha, I'm just sitting at home... come take a look now. I have beer

Can't see any pic.
U-joint could be the problem, the steering will transmit any vibrations back to the column. Does it get worse going around turns?
I don't mind popping over to have a look at it. Can't do it tonight though.........probably on the weekend if that works.

yup........that is one trashed u-joint. You can see where the axle shaft ears have been making contact wth each other. That is likely your steering issue as well.

I'm in for a headache with that one, I'm sure.
I needed a blowtorch to the the passenger side off a year ago.

Well, I've got the u-joint in my backseat now, along with a shiny socket thingy.. yes, thingy. Alex was nice enough to have me over yesterday, and he took a look... couldn't get one of the bolts off though, didn't have the right socket.. so now I'm all prepared. We're trying again tomorrow, I think. But if you wanna help out, I won't decline I think Alex already regrets offering me any assistance, haha. I'm free all weekend.. going through hell with my roommates (I'm moving and they're not impressed, making life hard), so if you suggest that I should bring her over..... I will. lol.

Well if your havin a hard time with it bring it up.... pretty sure we can figure it out. Alex likes to "unbolt things" and do things "the proper way". We use a whole different set of principles here. By the way, your jeep is already registered right?

Registered? Yes sir... she's my daily driver.
I think "the proper way" is the safest way with my rig, haha.. anything too rough might end her.

I was able to fix her u-joint............first time i've had to use the cutoff wheel to remove one. The ends of 2 of the caps were busted off so trying to press it out was loads of fun.

I think part of my u-joint might be permanently lodged in his garage somewhere.... or his flesh, even.
Lol where did that one piece fly off too??
As soon as I'm done moving all my stuff into my new house, I'll drop off those Corona for you. Thanks again Alex!!
