Hey guys! My name is Russell, and I just accepted a job offer with Syncrude up here in Fort McMurray. I am currently up here looking for a place to live, and will be starting work on the 31st. Either way, I saw a number of modified Jeeps here while driving around exploring this afternoon, and figured I'd pop on the forum to introduce myself. I am very active with the Edmonton Jeep Club, and have a fullsize K5 Blazer back in Edmonton that I use as a wheeling rig. I am planning on leaving it in Edmonton for the time being, but may haul it up if I can find a place to store it up here, and if the terrain seems like it is worth the extra costs. That said, I do have a quad and a skidoo that I should have space for, and would be more than happy to go out and explore some trails if anyone here is into the smaller kind of wheeling machines Catch you guys later! If you see the white Chevy reg cab longbox diesel with a headache rack and a tool box, wave! (haha! I am completely invisible around these parts )

Russell, glad to have you up here. I have seen your posts on the EJC and we chatted a bit about my v8 swap.
You are welcome to come on a few runs as a passenger to see if you want to bring your rig up. We already have one Blazer guy already so you wouldn't be alone.
Cheers

I hear you have that thing up and running eh? I'm about 50% done swapping a 6.0L into a 94 YJ, but dude is gonna have to finish it off on his own for obvious reasons, haha! I wound up finding a decent little basement suite to rent, and headed back home. Got my K5 into primer today, hopefully get it blocked down and painted within the next week or so. Leaves me one week to get it fully re-assembled and tucked away in storage until I am able to come back for it, or come back South to go wheeling with EJC

Welcome Russell ;D We've spoken on the EJC forum too... glad to have you up here. And as Alex said... come on out on a run sometime and we'll show you some trails and see if you like them! A little different terrain... but at least here its in your 'back yard'... so wheeling is never inconvenient! Cheers! Jay

Hey Russell, I'm pretty sure I bought some Blazer sides off you last year. Welcome to Fort Mac! Did you bring some more parts for me? lol ;D

Hey Greg! You get those sides installed yet? I should have kept them, I rolled my K5 this last fall and had to put some considerable effort into modifying a set of longbox sides to repair it, haha
All fixed up now, but man, that was a lot of work! Oh, and what kind of parts do you need for your rig? I need a 87+ EFI fuel tank and skid plate for mine if you happen to have one floating around...

Sorry, I don't have that, I need a pair of truck tailgate "hinges". You know the cups that bolt on to the box sides. Welcome to Fort Mac.

It's been a long slow process but i'm onto the short list now. Should have it on the trails by the end of June. 99% of the major problems have been solved, now it's just assembly and working all the bugs out of it. I'll hopefully have it at the next wing night if you can make it out. Cheers.

When is the next wings night! And do you need any help with your Jeep? I am so friggin bored dude, I am dying just sitting on the couch watching Stargate re-runs on the space channel every night, haha
That is a standing offer for anyone -- I'm up for just about anything at the moment, transmission / engines swaps, stuffing 6.0Ls into Jeeps, whatever! I work for free, just want to get connected up here and get to know some people to go hang out with!
